When an international family requested our services to assist them to make their newly purchased house feel like their own home on a short budget. This presented the wonderful opportunity to work closely together to identify their essentials, whilst working within their specified budget management.

The layout of the house was fitting nicely into their plans, with flooring and walls renovations being the initial hot items to address. We started by working on the wall texture by smoothing them over and adding a warm white paint which gave them a luxurious look.

We then removed all carpets in the house, which expose the existing pine wood floor. After a good sand, we decided to whitewash the pine in all the bedrooms to it to bring a sense of peace and increase the light.

Furnishing was the next focus in the house. We wanted to keep some contrast that reflected the intensity of Melbourne life, by bringing darker tones, whilst making sure we kept some coastal vibes that this beautiful city offers.

The focus was to make the kitchen, living room, dining room, and outdoor patio a unique family room, allowing no borders between the inside and the outside. The Kids rooms when furnished so to storage, along with maximizing their space to play. We focused on the essentials for the small main ensuite to ensure a fluid flow around the spaces. Finally, we built in a custom desk to maximize office space and made sure pantry and laundry had their custom cabinets to allow best storage capacity.

All resulted in a cozy and friendly house where the flow was enjoyable and the tones matching the environment so family felt home and settle.
